Lepaking @ Pasar Ujung Minggu di Saberkas Centre
Every Friday & Saturday evenings, without fail,my friends and I would 'lepak'(loiter) at any one of the kopi shops or at Agnes Nani's kaki lima,(5 foot way) 'gossiping' away or laughing out loud at anything that's worth laughing at. We would drink glasses & glasses of ice-lemon teas, ordered from Aseanika, the kopi shop nearby. All kinds of things are being traded at this pasar malam(nite market)...outdated magazines(1 or 2 mths old) of Oprah or O ,Martha Steward,Home Deco mags,Australian Weekly,Harpers,Housekeeping & others for a fraction of the price that one would pay for at the shops in town...of course minus the pretty covers of the mags. What do you expect?..Rm2.50 to RM3.00 for O mag,Hello,OK,Majesty...murah(cheap)
. Local jungle produce, fake branded bags, shirts and blouses made in Brunei Darulsalam, local handicrafts, food and cakes are also available. Do visit it the next time you are in Miri.

Oh Christmas Tree,Oh Christmas Tree.........
I could not resist taking pictures of the xmas trees outside Siong Lee after breakfast at 2020's Cafe this morning. The reason why I'm posting all things 'chrismasy' is because I want to 'build up' the mood not only materially but spiritually. One has to trigger the 'excitement/the senses' -whatever, be it the brains or the hearts to make one in the mood for Christmas.
Now every one can buy..................

Not only "Now everybody can fly" as advertised by Air Asia but "Now every one can buy"as advertised by e-mart,tutan . Things sold in e-mart have been known to be 'cheap' (that's what most Iban people say. The saying goes like this,"Ti meli utai ba e-mart,ngena duit RM100,penuh kereta."(If you go shopping at e-mart, a RM100/- worth of goods could fill your car.) To another person who always has something nasty to say, would say that "Yes,it's true if your car is small." Whatever it is,the vegetables are cheap...but if you are staying at Taman Tunku area,it's not really worth it because it's quite a distance and considering the rising cost of petrol. Naahhh!
Yahoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Yahoooo! Rumah Panjai Tuai Rumah Joanis Giri,Nanga Geremai got 2nd placing in the recent'beauty' longhouse contest. Well done!
Previous 2nd place winners got to receive something like RM30K worth of government grants or in the form of projects for the longhouse. I hope it would be the same this time if not better than last year's prize.
Buy two & you get 2 free! or 4 bolehlah.
Was that what he's trying to tell me? Or is it the common "PEACE" sign or V sign? This guy happily posed for me as I was trying to snap some more pictures of the chrismasy mood at the mall. This"Peace"/V sign reminds me of a joke told by Nelly about a statue of a famous guy showing his fingers like what the guy's doing except the famous guy only showed two fingers, which was misinterpreted as only limiting to take 2 "chickens" If the famous guy had put up 2 hands showing 2 fingers on each hand like what the guy in the picture had done,he would still be around standing majestically in a nearby museum.
Xmas comes early to Boulevard Shopping Mall
I asked this friend to pose next to the xmas tree at the basement of the said mall. This shot was taken towards the end of October,so you can imagine how early the xmas mood in Miri is. I wanted to take more pictures but decided not to,incase the management might not be too pleased. The top floor of the departmental store has a very good selection of xmas decos for your xmas tree and home. It's so chrismas..y there..new ornaments, big multiple bells in gold and silver..all kinds of lights..very nice lah and so are the prices. Come to think of it,it's about time that I get rid of my old xmas deco and ornaments. Time for a change.
Opening Ceremony of Pujut Flyover,Miri.
What!? Another official opening of the Pujut flyover?First, the cm declared open the flyover, then it was the dcm and next monday,it's the pm's turn to declare it open. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 3.30pm and invited guests, party supporters fromBarisan Nasional, members of NGOs are requested to be present. Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak, Miri has been informed to send 20 members for the function. If the Pujut Flyover had been something like the Spahagetti Junction in Birmingham, the opening ceremonies by the vips/vvips would take and last the whole year.
