Kala kita meda tau ke ngasai maia anak kawan ke bisi kahwin,maioh macam ai bisa ke di pansut?. Keda nya botol arak ke enda kala dipeda,bisi udah nyau enda ulih di bacha label bai ke pengelama udah di simpan & taruh baroh katil enggau ba cabinet ti baka enggi sida Indai Yok,endang meruan di kunchi enggai ke di ambi tikus.
Maia kami ke rami melah pinang malam ari enam tu tadi, tak manah-manah enggau benama label botol arak ke dibantai apai-indai pengantin lelaki. Peda aku ukai entu botol ke di lalai ke sida baroh katil,munyi ko sida Indai Hon. Tak baru-baru gamal botol..baka sida Otard,Jim Beam,Jack Daniels,Green Label enggau sida Blue label. Ngagai bala ke rindu ngirup Label 5,sorry lah..nadai ayan botol nya malam nya. Nya meh pengaga bala apai-indai ke ngerami anak ke melah pinang,bekikis bulu betis.
Maia ke ngumpul botol nya nyau betaun-taun tang maia ke ngirup ( maioh agi di ayah) tak sekelip mata peda bala tukang nyibur arak nyau gari kemi palau udah di pangkong botol. Kumbai enda nemu nganu.

Ngabas bubu tuak.....
Some of you may think that it is a bit too early to be thinking of Gawai but actually it is rather 'late' already especially for those housewives who should be brewing tuak for consumption come Gawai,at least for the 'ngirup ai pengayu' bit. Years ago as far as I could remember, around this time if not early,before the 'arrival' of smuggled beers & alcohols,brewing tuak seemed to be the thing to do in April in order to get wine clear tuak not the cloudy kind of tuak. My mum and her friends often exchanged greetings like" Udah manduk tuak/ngaga tuak kita wai?" or "dini alai meli ragi or beras pulut ke manah?" when they met at the Lutong Bazaar,years ago. Just this morning, my mum said that she's spoken to my cousin to 'nyangkong' ngaga tuak,of which my cousin said she udah bisi nyangkong. That brings my thoughts to the fact that it won't be long if Ibans rely too much on beers,Peter Vella,Stanley or sida Chivas,Label 5, brewing & drinking tuak would be a dying art. My sister-inlaw, for 2 years running, her tuak were 'undrinkable'..masam. First, she blamed it on the container then on the yeast/ragi. hopefully her tuak this year would be drinkable otherwise the tuak would have to be 'imported' from Ulu Bayor,not that the people there adore tuak..they prefer 'langkau' to tuak..more kick,according to the hardcore drinkers.
Did you know that there are a few things that one should do when making tuak?
1. All things,utensils,containers,periuk for cooking the glutinous rice have to be 'sterilised' by hot water and ginger.
2. You are not supposed to eat anything sourish,salty,smelly otherwise the tuak would turn sour & smelly.
3. Water must be properly boiled.
4. You cannot 'kentut'/fart when making tuak otherwise the tuak would not jadi tuak. Ha..ha..ha..bau bangar.
5.Pray that the tuak will turn alright..must not have bad thoughts about anything. Before taking the first sip of the tuak, 'throw' some tuak to the 'environment'...you know what I mean.

Thank the good Lord that this did not happen in (/) but this incident happened in Lubok Antu area.The antu somewhere from the lubok might have got into her husband. He was very angry with his wife for neglecting her role as a wife and mother,mostly spending time practising the poco-poco to the extent that his wife forgot to cook rice. Sabarlah apai Dom.
Ngagai bala members Band Temaga Sebugey,anang enda berapi dulu ke sida apai Dom sebedau nurun belajar betaboh tau ke ngajat. Lauk pandu nyamai-nyamai ke,wai. Anang muka tin sardine.

oh no..!!!
I just received a phone call from the towkay neo of Sitt Travel to inform me that RBA won't be flying to Denpasar after 31st may,2008. ya..must be because of the soaring price of fuel and it's no longer a lucrative route to take. Well,you see, I want to take my son there to 'de-stress' after months of studying in Ayer Keroh and staying in Bukit Beruang. Why Bali? Affordable and foreign...so I asked Chara to book us going on 31st May & coming back on 5th June. Ya..spend the gawai hols there. There's of course the other alternative route & airline..AirAsia via KK or Kuching. Another family has expressed interest in wanting to come along with us. Macam mana ini,pok?

To all Mirians who are residing wherever you are, including residing in Bangalore,here's a bit of everything:
Bubuk bisilah mimit-mimit; rather expensive @RM5/- per kilo;not much now;everyone I meet now,say that they cannot afford to 'nyangkong'/give to friends and relatives the end product of the bubuk,i.e. belacan. But do not despair,if you need belacan I can contact some friends who are selling belacan. Just let me know.
A new eating place called 'Mr. Ho's Fine Foods' located at the place where Fella Design's Furniture shop &AAsia's office used to be,is now opened. I have not been..a group of us joggers are planning to make a trip there sometime this week....GO DUTCH,suggested somebody.
Last Saturday, D & I invited Rosalind K & Sue Merican for lunch at Imperial CoffeeHouse while Watson & Peter Merican went out to sea for fishing. D has known Peter & Sue since he's a student in London kelia and a group of them,Iban students ever visited the couple at their house. They were very kind and hospitable when they went to visit them,ko D. .When one is a student, a little act of kindness goes a long way, esp in a foreign land. Cerita punya cerita Rosalind told me that her daughter who studies in London told her that Aunty Jenny bisi blog,so tambah menambah meh readers aku including Flavia ke diatu kerja di Bangalore. Namaste!
Have you read about Air Asia wanting to impose RM5/ for per check- in bag? Read about it this morning and this is one of the newest measures that they hope will lessen their burden on the soaring price of fuel. The more bags and the heavier the bags, more fuel will be used up. That brings my thoughts to :( ...they'll probably come up with the idea that fat & heavy people like Yours Truly would have to pay more,say for those who weigh over 65 kgs, every additional kilo that an obese person like me will have to pay say, RM5/-, let's calculate...????/ ) Time to lose weight,muk. Wonder if I could check in together with a thin person who weighs under 40 kgs and my excess weight to be shared with that thin person?....Ha..ha..
Weather in Miri tak enda aku nemu nusoi...a few minutes,it's hot and sunny and the next few minutes it would suddenly start drizzling and at times, a heavy downpour,which makes me real mad because I have to take out & take in the chapan of bubuk a few times every day. I make a few kilos of belacan just enough for own consumption. About 2 kg fell off from the chapan when I put them to dry in the sun..due to unstable cloth lines that I put the chapan on. ( chapan- woven rattan used in longhouse to dry whatever..padi,pepper,etc.)
Nama agi cerita?....oh ya talking about staying in hotel rooms. Just read somebody's blog where he wrote about having to put the bedroomlights on when staying in a hotel. That brings me to 2 persons that I know,indai orang, who travel a lot on work related trips,ngena bilun baka aku ke ngena kereta and staying in hotels all over the country and world alone every other day.I really salute them for their 'bravery'. If I were to tell this to my ustazah friends (mind you, I have quite a few and these two are no less,deaconess/catechist in their own rights)they'd say that aku enda cukup sembahyang..lemah semengat. The other time when I went to Kuching, our room lights suddenly kaput for no reason. We thought it was a black out but apparently it was not...then I suddenly remembered that a late friend of mine used to stay at the hotel and probably ever slept in that room. EEEchak...mdm buyan is here. Sorry Mang & Jumau,ukai nakut ke sduai...reka cerita aja. Uchukeling,alah endar nuan laban indai urang dua iko tu. seduai berani tindok kediri ba bilik hotel.

Tay tut tay..tay tut tay... tut tut tay...
Memperkenalkan Band Temaga Sebugey....( Kami begiga ke nama band kami,Mary & Julia alu nyebut 'band sebugey'..so Band Sebugey,it is.) Nya meh bala kami sebuat bisi enggau urang ngeruh ai,belajar betaboh. Ba aku siko,nadai siti penemu main asal Iban ke temu,nya ninga Julia madah DAM bisi ngatur lesson betaboh alu ka aku enggau. Bai punya bai,bisi beberapa iko bala kami mansang ngagai Rumah Dayak di malam. Munyi ke begawai pengrami kami di malam..palu enda synchronise,munyi ko urang.
Ti bala kita tau ke bala bini kita ke enda nemu ulu ili betaboh baka aku,tau mansang ngagai Rumah Dayak tiap ari satu & ari empat jam 7.00 lemai sampai 9.00 lemai.Aram sama sama belajar.Bayar semina RM12.50 siko tang enda tau enda 4 iko dalam siti band.
Bakatu ajat kami urang rumah panjai TR Penghulu Manyie,Serupai,ko Mary. Biyau ke dia meh lengan asal anang balat 'reverse' singkang kaki.
"Salah..salah..baka tu iya..,"ko Ajik. 3 kali nempap enggau jari kanan,tempap 3 kali agi,dah nya tempap 2 kali ngena jari kiba..betul..RRR..RRR..LL..RRR..LL (L-Left & R-Right)
