SIDS Bintulu 20th anniversary

Endun singing a dangdut number.

< Not only is she the ever popular voice from Iban MiriFM radio station, she is also a good singer. "Sambut meh pesan" (Receive my message) says Mary and "Ujan ke ganti ai mata aku" ( The rainwater to replace my teardrops or Let the rain be my tears/the rain instead of my tears ) Heart breaking titles;I love her rendition of "Sulu Ninggal Enda Madah"( Darling left without saying goodbye) Ingin ku nunu gambar nuan sulu (feel like burning your photo..ha..or seluar dalam)

The ever graceful Puan Senorita Linang singing the blues away with "Balang semaya"(Broken/Unkept promises)

A 'traumatised' driver who lost her way in Btu. Bless her heart, she still smiles even though her hands are still cold & trembling after the ordeal.

Posing before leaving for the dinner

I just got back from Bintulu this afternoon after a nite stay. A group of 29 ladies went there by cars to attend an anniversary dinner as mentioned above. Some of us stayed at Parkcity Beverly Hotel while others stayed with relatives. I drove my old junk, a battered CRV and with me or rather my passengers numbered to 5 ladies. Yes 6 of us in that small car.Apuuuuu!,said D..... My poor car! Praise God ( mind you,we really prayed hard,I mean real hard, for God's mercy and compassion on us,the car and trip...the ladies even recited their Rosary) If you think 6 ladies sitting in a car is a torture, wait til you hear about 7 of us 'camping' in 1 room. You figure it out lah!

The drive to Bintulu took us about 3hrs+..hey you are looking at an 'amu' driving. If any 'amu' (old lady)can beat that record, please let me know. Joe can testify that I did/do drive pretty fast when time is a factor, like the trip to Bintulu last year that Joe,D & I took. We left the church at @5am,stopped at Bekenu for prawn mee and then headed to Bintulu. After a car tour of Bintulu town,we stopped at Apple Restaurant (introduced by Jumau) for lunch. Right after lunch,we zoomed back to Miri because Joe had to attend a choir practice. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!

Sorry,where was I?

Oh ya...back to the SIDS dinner..by 6.30 all of us ladies were ready to leave for the Tanjung Batu Beach Restaurant. Before that,we asked the locals where the venue's and were told the direction to take. I don't know and still cannot explain after all the directions given and we still lost our way. It goes to show that the 'devil is always on the prowl' & a case of 'the blind leading the blind'. What was supposed to be a 'o blady o blada' short distance to the restaurant, eventually turned out to be the longest distance to the restaurant. We took a wrong turn and we ended up at some unknown places. The restaurant( for non locals ) is 'very' hard to find, and apparently we were not the only non locals who lost our way. I had a sleepless night last night thinking about 4 of our ladies who were 'traumatised' by this incident.(Lost their way..imagine from Parkcity they ended at some unknown places and it was dark;did not have a clue which road to take but thank God, a kind samaritan brought them to the restaurant...they did doubt about the stranger.) Oh what a nite!

OH WHAT A NITE!

For those who did not go through this 'trauma',they had a great time at the anniversary celebration.. I think I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves at the event that took place that nite.
