The Elizabeth Hotel,Mount Elizabeth,S'pore.

The Elizabeth Hotel is located at Mount Elizabeth, which is only about 5 mins walk to Orchard Road. It is a convenient location but quite quiet. The staff's very helpful and I recommend people to stay here. It is about the cheapest along Orchard Road...about RM500 a night..my 2 nights' hotel room stay in KL. Like I said, what to do....afterall the visit was to see the xmas lightings & deco on Orchard Road. The time taken from Harbourfront to the hotel's about 15mins.

Harbourfront,Singapore.

Aeroline coaches drop their passengers from KL at Harbourfront,Spore. Those from Johore Bahru itself stop somewhere else. After alighting from the coach, look for the sign board that says Harbourfront Centre & follow the arrow..and you are on your way to the bigger picture of the city by either taking the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) something like the LRT but this has more carriages & is fast and mostly underground system or by bus or taxi.

Taxi stand - we took the Mercedes taxi, because there was no other taxi then. We're charged $35 ($25 normal fare) to our hotel at Mount Elizabeth and the driver was very courteous & at the same time became a tour guide explaining and showing us the history of the buildings & places that were on our way to the hotel. "That place over there,is where Lee Kuan Yew stays. It is heavily guarded by soldiers..and you know how much he earns in a day? $10,000 a day. Goh Chok Tong & Lee Hsieng Loong also earn $10,000 a day. Itu Lee Kuan Yew,very clever. Bla..bla..bla.."said the chauffeur(remember I was in the Mercedes),while chauffeuring us to our destination.

Cable cars to Sentosa Island

Harbourfront is a place where people take the boats, ferries, cable cars, etc to places like Sentosa Island,Batam & a few other places. The place is very busy; a shopping complex cum mini sea port. Things are much cheaper than in Orchard Road's..

Dim Sum at Happy Noodle House..a must when in KL to head to this place, at the entrance to Sg Wang Plaza.

D used to remember KL as it was during his university's days in MU/UM(early 70s) and quite often reminisces the time spent there. One episode that he likes to laugh out loud is the one about a few of them, Ibans, who just started their studies at UM, went sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur itself. I won't mention their names because they are 'orang besai' now. While walking about, not knowing 'head & tail' of Kuala Lumpur, they met a policeman and one of them bravely asked the policeman, "Encik, mana jalan pergi Kuala Lumpur?" The policeman laughed & answered,"Eh! Ini lah Kuala Lumpur!"
So back to the present day, our trip to KL was just nice..had a good break. We prayed for good weather,God's protection & guidance and Praise be to Him for all that.

Kuala Lumpur..Kuala Lumpur

Ba aku siko jauh amat menua Kuala Lumpur..jarang endar ke raun kin laban te berasai rugi endar mayar tambang bilun ke ngemar nya.Seninjik endar maia ati ke muat ka ngabas anak aku ke belajar di MMU, Ayer Keroh,Melaka, aku tetulih ke tiket supersaver iya nya semina mayar RM590/-siko pulai mansang. Hari empat tu tadi, kami duai laki aku tumu pagi, ngena bilun ke pukul 6.40 pagi ari Miri ke KL. Pedis amat ngena bilun tumu, enggai tentu tindok, takut ke telanjur tindok, enda ulih dani laban sekumbang bala anak ke nadai agi besekula, enda kala tumu kami dani.

I find Kuala Lumpur to be an expensive destination and also an expensive affair and hence it is a place too far for me. We're fortunate to be able to get the supersaver's fare,so off we went on Thursday by the 6.40am flight. The fact that we woke up every hour so as not to miss the flight, that flight was worth taking..one could sleep throughout the journey and we reached KL about 8.40am. We took the taxi, paid @RM65 for the taxi to take us to The Coronade Hotel,Bukit Bintang. This was the first time that we stayed there.( It looks like the hotel is owned by a Sarawakian, judging from the registration plate numbers of the cars parked there. Two cars are Miri registered & one Mercedes Sports car's Kuching registered. The few times that we went,we stayed at Parkroyal 7 last year I stayed at THE ZONE on the park.(WHERE?The ZONE? aiya! the hotel owned by Datuk K,where he proposed to Siti Nurhaliza last year..remember?)
Needless to say, we bumped into several people from Miri at the hotel, including Evelyn Jinggut&family & also a lady who operates a kway tiaw stall at the Open Air market. At Jalan Alor, we met a few Iban families from Bintulu and some Miri friends. What else to write..we got back Sunday afternoon...3 days in KL is just nice.
