I know it is only the 6th day of Christmas and 'tis a season to be jolly, according to a lyric of a xmas favourite, but in Miri & I'm sure elsewhere, 'tis seems to be the season for mating. I don't mean it in a crude way..just trying to make the sentence more appealing. You know how it is,during Advent,i.e before Xmas, Christians are not supposed to get married. D& I were one of the culprits who defied that ruling. We got married on 20th December,1980...& I know quite a number of people also committed that SIN..getting married during Advent. After Xmas everyone seems to get hitched. Wedding dinners everywhere. The bridal shops are busy and so are the salons, where not only the bridal party go there for hair do & make up but the invited guests, too.

You see, I went to another wedding last night..they somehow managed to abstain from getting married during Advent, being good Christians, afterall dad is a church warden at Matei Dei. In that Boulevard restaurant alone, 2 weddings took place. A few engagement parties were held last night, one of which was the engagement of Endu's son to her late mother's best buddy's grand daughter. Confused? Vernon's engagement to Jill (not my Jill). Congrats to Vernon & Jill. Thank you Endu for not telling me..I had to get the news from Edward/Awat. Last night, the entourage from Kuala Lumpur in the form of Mang & family...especially flown in to attend another engagement party. Congrats to James & fiancee.

About the wedding last night, I was and am happy for Ai Geok & Dimang and share their joy when Alisa got married to Anthony. The crowd made up mostly of church people. The food was plentiful & I saw so much wastage.

Announcing the arrival of......the bride & groom. Salah ukai, it's Indai Maie,ko Lily.

Please be seated..a rare smile from Apai Maie..must be the 'escalating' price of the palm oil /oil palm that is
causing him to 'SMILE'.
Yes, Indai Maie, Keligit meh nya...anang entu merening, peda nuan ALK senyum 24jam...gaga bulih keligit. ha..
I couldn't help taking a snapshot of the MC's polished pair of shoes...really kilat. (shiny)). The 'kilatness'/shininess tells a lot about a person. D's friend, a fellow lawyer said, "Nama guna gamal sigat, ngena jacket, seluar & baju manah,kuchah-kuchah bejako ti kasut nyau bekurai, bekerak, balut latak/tai ukoi/tai manok lintong?" what's the use of looking smart when your shoes are not polished/ shiny? After hearing that, every sunday, after church,D never fails to polish his shoes. ( Kasut kena gap ko aku tu.)

Keep the church clean

Sunday 30th Dec 2007

It's about time that an announcement on keeping the church clean is made. Despite the notice, I still noticed some rubbish on the floor. I don't know whether it was from last night's Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols or from this morning. Again, I could not help being 'mangah' (in a state of wanting to 's------e 'somebody) again when a friend's son kept on banging the frame of the shutter. What did the mother do?..just acted deaf & dumb, until I stared hard at her, then she realised why I gave that stare. I posted my thoughts on discipline in church but I took it off. Now,I'll post it again. I did mention to Fr. Kenny Tan & Deacon Alfred about the lack of discipline, people talking during communion, answering phone calls & so forth. Come on lah...give God 1 1/2 hr of your time on Sundays.
