Venice as seen from Darie's camera....

choppy waters caused by the various boats plying the sea.

To reach Venice, one has to take something like an express boat, speed boat for some or a motor launch. It would take about 45 mins to reach Venice from the mainland. The 1st time I went to Venice the boat was provided by Murano Glass Factory & it was free.

But this time round the tour company hired an express boat specially for us. View or scene seen as we approach Venice.
It is said that Venice is slowly sinking. ...so they said.

The hotels in Venice are expensive & if you want to go to a paying toilet,it would cost Euro 1.50 unless of course you are having your meal at restaurant then it would cost nothing.

As soon as we step out of the boat which brings us from the mainland to the island of Venice, this is what we see.

Adai pan tan ti makai tu belama,ko Darie...nyu tengok ke daun ubi aku. Pulai ila alu ngagai kebun aku di Rh Ampik tau ke ke Kejapil ngiga daun ubi.

We had sphagetti for lunch in Venice.

.....I am of course, talking about my face which has been the topic of conversation done quite openly infront of my face..those drooping cheeks which are closely linked to being my father's daughter. I remember, quite a few times when I was intorduced as being my father's daughter, the kindest thing people commented about the association would be,"Ya..you look like your father..the face, the kuyu(cheeks in Iban)...amat baka kuyu apak nuan, kuyu nuan..Kuyu nuan baka kuyu sida Indai Joe & Indai Bulau ...bla..bla..bla.. The last time I saw the 2 aunties mentioned ( my father's sisters) their kuyu seemed 'lifted up' unlike mine. Ha..ha..Anyway,last night,Renatta invited a few of us over to her house for a belated Kaamataan do & to do some facial uplifting. so off we went & I was the 1st one to have my face done. It can't be seen in just one treatment...mine needs MAJOR rejuvenations/uplifting!!! If it's a house it needs major renovation..cannot be done..a little bit here..a little bit there.
Like every other gathering we have had, posing to have our photographs taken is a MUST thing to do. So here are some snapshots of what happened last night.

Florence

The Old Bridge

The City of Florence behind me

Plenty of jewellery shops lining the narrow streets of Florence.

The Golden Door of a Cathedral in Florence

All colours & flavours of ice-creams

The Dome of a Cathedral in Florence

A tour of Italy is not recommended for those who do not like walking or do not have the stamina to walk;weak legs & asthmatics because it involves a LOT of walking. The coach leaves you, say,at Pujut 1 & you have to walk as far as Pujut 7 when you take the Florence City Tour. I remember during my 1st tour to Florence,my kasut abis carik(shoes torn..both sides). I had to plaster them with cellotapes. a lot..a lot ..a lot of walking. If you must or want to see Italy,do not go when you are too old unless of course you're like my aunty who had no sweat walking when she went there.
If you love things historic, then a tour of Italy is for you..the ruins, cathedrals & all that. Then again, all things in Europe are historic.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Tower of Pisa is still leaning/tilting but it should still be there for a good hundred(s) more years to come. We were in Pisa on the 2nd day of our tour. The coach left us at a bus station & we had to walk a fair bit to reach the Tower. A lot of souvenir shops along the way to the Tower & do not be surprised when you hear the Indian shop assistants speaking Malay to you asking you to buy the various keychains, postcards, tea cloth, etc. It seems most of them ever worked in M'sia before(KL & Melaka) & after having saved enough money they went to Europe to look for jobs. So do not be surprised when you hear them calling,"Dari Malaysia? Mari sini, murah murah..beli,beli."
