Miri Divisional Gawai Celebration 2008 Organising Committee will be organizing the above mentioned contests on 17th May,2008 at Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club,Miri.
There would be 4 catergories namely:
Kumang Iban
Keligit Orang Ulu
Kumang Bidayuh
Keling-Belawan (Open )
The Kumang/Keligit from the each catergory will get RM1000/-
1st runner up will get RM800/-
2nd runner up will get RM600/-
Remaining finalists (3 x) will get RM300/- each.
The Keling-Belawan will get RM700/-
1st runner up will get RM600/-
2nd runner up will get RM500/-
Remaining finalists (3 x ) will get RM200/- each.
Elimination Round:
If there are more than 6 contestants in each catergory,then there will be an elimination round on 11th May,2008 at the Musical Corridor, Eastwood Valley, Golf & Country Club,Miri at 7.00pm.
The Dress code for the ladies will be the Kebaya while for the men,it will be Long Sleeves Batik
Only 6 finalists will be selected for the final in each catergory.
There will be a briefing for all contestants on Friday,9th May,2008 at Rumah Dayak,Miri at 7.00pm. All contestants are expected to attend the briefing.

Tickets for the Gawai night will be out soon,priced at RM40/- & RM50/-each
