Actually ,I could do with a little bit of sleep this afternoon but I was somehow being ASKED to do a write up on this morning's event. So for the benefit of those of you who want to know what's happening during the church ceremony,get yourselves some kopi & snacks & read & see the pics I have uploaded for you. Sorry for the dark pictures..tried my best to get good snapshots. Daisy,I hope you can find my blog.( Just found out that Daisy also reads my blog,too...)

It rained this morning but by 10.00am the rain sort of cleared away to give way to Vernon & Jill,so they could get some sunshine as well. According to popular housewives' tale,..common belief among Iban mothers that some rain on one's wedding day is good for the marriage...chelap & lindap. We pray & pray that showers of blessings would continue to pour into Vernon & Jill's married life. Amen to that! The church marriage ceremony was very well attended by friends & relatives,uncles,aunties & cousins from both sides of the newly wedded couple. With just both of Jill's & Vernon's aunties,uncles& cousins,they alone can fill up the hall.

The Officiant Minister was Rev. Peter Quek;solemnised the wedding(the I do's..the exchanging of rings..& the 1st person to congratulate & tell the groom "Now,you may kiss the bride..."

Rev. Solomon Bulan shared the Word of God;the greatest commandment to LOVE;being committed to one another.

After sharing on the Word,there was lighting of the Unity Candles where TWO SHALL BECOME ONE; two families become one.

The ceremony lasted about an hour followed by the photo-taking sessions. had to leave earlier because being a committed wife,I had to fetch my husband from work. ADIOS!!

**With all the happenings,my mind somehow wandered to my wedding,my brothers',Jinet's,Endu's & the rest of the siblings',& to one particular person,in the form of Indai Elo,as my brothers & I,affectionately called her/Indai Jinet to the others,who I pictured,had she been alive today,she would be on her feet,up & about,throwing her personalised confetti of cut coloured crepe papers,pandan leaves,kunyit coloured rice grains & coins at the wedded couple as they made their exit at the entrance of the church.I imagine great rejoicing on Indai Elo's part as her uchu Vernon marries her best buddy's ( indai Danny) uchu,Jill. And at most wedding receptions, indai Elo was one of the first people to berjoget even though her legs ached.**
