Another WISH.....

As usual, like all my other wishes which I know are almost impossible to have,I, at this point of time would like to be, of all the things..an AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINE,in short,ATM. That machine that we all like to go to...especially ti bisi DUIT dalam nya......,be it at Maybank,CIMB,Std Chartered,etc.,...yes,I'd like to be that so that I have all the money to GIVE.
Malik ke ulu, malik ke ili, semua utai & mensia terangap minta tulung..ni itu,ni ini. Aiyooo!!!!

Anyway tu cerita aku ke pagi tu:

Well the story goes, especially for Anglicans of Sarawak,be y'all kerja di dini alai or di Tasik Saudi Arabia or di menua 'prika, nyadi pagi tadi maia kami ke sembiang, bisi 2 iko pengari ari Gereja di Kuching nyampai ke jako pesan minta tulung bantu dalam uang ringgit kira ke ngagai central fund Gerja kena 'ngerepair' Bishop's House,Ministry Fund, & asai ke St. Luke's Church building fund among other things. Maioh beguna ke duit meh Gereja, kena ngaji bala paderi, kena mantu gerja enggau parishes ke bukai ke kurang datai pemisi. Sama sama meri ke pemisi diri meh,ko iya ke bejako tadi.Ti sama meri ke mimit nya,tau nyadi maioh ,ko iya. Amat ga munyi,ko iya.

DUIT NYA UDAH DI BERI TUHAN NGAGAI KITAI..SEMINA NGANTI KITAI KE NGELUAR DUIT KITAI NYA ARI KUCHEK tau ke ari (ATM) KITAI,DAH NYA MERI NGAGAI GEREJA.

We already have the money..it is still in our pocket ( or still in the ATM),waiting for us to give it to the church.

You'll be blessed..you'll be blessed...

Snow snow..come,come to Miri....

The above 2 pixs taken from The Daily Mail,UK.
Down Memory Lane......the first & most likely the last time...
We 'ponteng' or 'tuang' class to play in the snow.

At the backyard of our rented accomodation at Leopold Street,Oxford.

Snow along Cowley Road,Oxford.

Angela,me & Janet posing near one of the university colleges in Oxford. Janet,I bet you don't have a copy of this photo.

In Snow-wonderland.

In whatever spare time I have ( I've lots & loads of it) I would, as soon as I get up in the morning, surf the net. One of my favourite sites would be The Daily Mail,UK. It is a must to visit the site and the last few days the photos of the thick snow splashed across the various pages brought back memories of my first encounter with snow.

During the first year when Jenny Wee & I were in boarding school at a place near Tamwoth,Staffordshire we did not get to see much snow. It was only when I stayed in Oxford that I got to see snow. I remember most of us Malaysians did not go for classes that day. We all headed to a park not far from one of the university colleges. My...we had a great time!!Maklum lah,saw & touched snow for the first time but it wasn't that thick.

Memories.....

Beserumpu makai...

Bala sida saudagar2 ari Perth kebetulan bisi serentak di Miri,ya bala kami beserumpu makai ala Kong Hee Fatt Choy munyi ko Naga.

specially for Janet

Angela & Janet in the background holding an apple above my head. We had Bob Marley "jamming" for us with "i shot the sheriff..". wah!!!so 'rastafarian" then.
Oil Baroness Janet at 50 yrs old still looking sexy in her mini skirt & ama (grandma) Ai Geok, still looking good after having or rather still looking after 7 children.

Muk & Ai Geok sitting next to an Oil Baron & Baroness from Dallas Texas. Notice that bag that the baron is guarding. Hey, Kenny,Give me some!!!

Since Janet has requested me to write more in English or in BM I'll just do that. Ok lah Janet!! as long as Kenny & you send the air ticket for me to Dallas. ( you don't have to send one for Ai Geok cos she can get free passage from Eileen..SINGAPORE GIRL!! remember??) Once there, I don't mind being taken on a Caribbeans Cruise or being flown to Las Vegas on a private jet. Ha..ha..

Janet,Ai Geok,Jennifer & I have been friends since forever. Janet & I spent quite a bit of time together while we were studying in England & so did Caesar. During term break,we made it a point to see each other by renting rooms be it in Oxford or London. We somehow never quarrelled;we always knew where to draw the line. There was such a thing called "Give & Take".

I'll write more my friends but first I'll have to wash the plates left over from last night's gathering with the "saudagars".

A Bleak Gawai?????

I know I am among a few who are already thinking what a bleak Gawai the Ibans are going to have this year especially those of us who are relying on rubber, pepper, oil palm & padi as a means of livelihood. The rain & the flood have brought much hardship to the people affected by the floods. I doubt if there is any padi left to harvest for those who planted padi some months ago because around this time of the year the padi are supposedly ready for harvesting. The rain stops rubber tappers to milk the rubber trees. When the price of rubber shot to an amazing high, pepper planters abandoned their pepper gardens because the fertilizers were expensive & so they concentrated on tapping rubber. It is also not a pretty picture for those who are into the oil palm business. My cousin told me scenes in and around the oil palm plantations where buah sawit were left to rot because the roads were impossible for the hilux or whatever vehicle to drive through.
Come rain or shine, still we have to be thankful & grateful to the Lord Our God.

some photos of the landslide...

Crane benong lifting kereta Honda (on the left)

...sinu endar meda bala mindah ke anak keresa. It seems there is no end to the rain and there is no end yet to stop worrying that there might be the possibility of yet another landslide & that more houses would be buried with the mud that comes from high up in the hill. The houses ke kena tanah runtuh nya nadai ngadang rumah sida iya tau tak kena laban nya jauh di depan. Nya me nasib siko-siko.
